Product Overview
CHORUS BOOK 3 RING NOTE-BOOK FORMAT
It should be especially helpful to song leaders who may not be familiar with all of these melodies from around the Army world. Chord symbols have also been included to facilitate accompaniment in a variety of possibilities.
To maximise its usefulness, the following editorial practice has been followed:
1. All melodies are written out in full, without repeat signs and ending brackets.
2. The text is always aligned syllabically with the music.
3. Lyrics have been adjusted to be sung literally, This applies particularly to words which have been contracted to accommodate the meter of the melody. (i.e. Heav’n, pow’r, ev’ry, etc)
4. Spelling is based on American tradition and practice (i.e. Savior, Favor, etc.)
5. Chord symbols have been provided above the melody to accommodate a variety of keyboard and string accompaniments. (Piano, guitar, accordion, etc.) These chord symbols are self-explanatory 9I.e. F,G7, etc.)
This edition is completely compatible with the chronology and contents of the Chorus Section as it appear in the 1987 edition of The Song Book of The Salvation Army. These melodies appear according to the following topical sections.
