New Zealand Salvationist, Marian Carian wrote this song in 1999, after a particularly difficult time in her life.
“The presence of God is such a powerful thing – and while he is
indeed always with us, I believe that something profound
happens when we intentionally seek his presence. I also think
that one of the reasons this song seemed to ‘resonate’ with so
many people was its simplicity and I often think that the best
songs are the simple ones!”
This arrangement holds little technical difficulty. Attaining a relaxed legato style with a supportive rhythmic approach from the drum kit will ensure this
beautiful song makes an effective contribution to worship.
The two-verse arrangement will work equally effectively as a band message
or as an accompaniment for congregational singing.
