The Desert Road To Glory, published in the ‘Classic Salvationist Texts’ series, by which Salvation Books makes available to a new generation of readers helpful writing published by The Salvation Army over the past century-and-a-half. Sub-titled Meditations on the Prayers of Paul, this book is a literary gem from the pen of the Army’s tenth General, Clarence D. Wiseman, a Canadian, who served as the Movement’s international leader from 1974-1977, The Desert Road to Glory was originally published in Canada in 1982 and was used as a study book during the Canada and Bermuda Territory’s centenary celebrations of that year.
Of this book, General Wiseman wrote: ‘Paul prayed that his converts should be ‘strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man’ (Ephesians 3:16). This is the theme that shines through the mediations.
