Flexibility has been a major aim of this production while keeping the material within accepted conceptual limits for young musicians.
Notes and concepts used (with exception of final arrangement) are covered within pages 1-15 of Standard of Excellence produced by Neil J. Kjos Music Company.
The arrangements can be used with or without the accompaniment tracks, which will also be valuable in motivating students to play the melodies as solos. The demonstration recordings use the Bb accompaniment tracks and feature cornet, Eb tenor horn and trombone. The lower part will work best with an instrument sounding an octavo lower but three similar instruments can still use the trio arrangements.
Extra accompaniment tracks have been produced for Eb and F instruments where young players have commenced at a lower pitch. This will allow an Eb instrument to use the Bb book (written range B2-A3) while listening to the Eb accompaniment tracks; likewise for F instruments playing from the Bb book using the F tracks.
