The Salvation Army is part of the family of God. It is also a family in its own right – one that keeps growing, and stretches round the world. Its common goals and global unity speak of the creative and healing power of God, in a hurting world. They show the love of Jesus Christ in action, making a difference, everywhere.
This family is for people of all ages, all nations and every social standing/ Everyone may belong. Even those who haven’t joined may feel part of it. In fact, the Army exists for them because it exists for ‘others’.
The Salvation Army family has its own God-given role to play in the world. To achieve this to the best effect, every generation has to play its part. Each has opportunities every day and everywhere to support, learn from and teach each other – and to love one another. From Generation to Generation is produced to show that loving connectedness between the generations is rooted in Scripture and is God’s will for his world. It is hoped the book will also ensure that no generation’s needs or contributions are overlooked.
