Originally written as a Cornet or Flugel Horn Solo this piece will work best with either of these instruments but could be used as a Euphonium solo.
The two tunes used are well known and are presented in an uncluttered and relaxed manner. As with all solos with band accompaniment there is a need for players to be aware of their role in the music and not allow personal dynamic level to obscure the melody.
The two songs associated with this setting are:
I Am Praying Blessed Saviour by Fanny Crosby and
I Believe God Answers Prayer, the writer of the words is unknown though the song was first published in ‘Bright Jewels For The Sunday School’ in 1869.
