We find a remarkable revelation from the lips of Jesus: that His body mystically incorporates all that one would find in the Jerusalem sanctuary. The Lord spoke through the prophet Isaiah about this, saying, “The Lord of Hosts . . . He will be a sanctuary” (Isaiah 8:13,14).
It is the same goal God was looking forward to when He gave instructions for the design of the original holy Temple. It was to be the Lord’s dwelling place: “And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them” (Exodus 25:8)
